Review Growth asks your happiest customers for a Google review at the moment they are most likely to leave one — after a reward, or a run of visits. It has always been able to ask by push notification and in the app. The Review request email lets it ask by email too, which reaches the members who joined at your counter and never installed the app.
What it is
The review request is one of your five club emails, designed on the Emails tab like the others. Its centrepiece is a Star rating block: five stars a member can tap straight from their inbox. Each tap records their rating, and where it takes them next follows your review routing.
Before it can send
All three of these are in Review Growth → Review Setup.
- 01Connect your Google business
Search for your listing so reviews land in the right place — or paste your review link and save it.
- 02Turn on Automatic review asks
The master switch. While it is off, no review requests go out by any channel.
- 03Turn on the Email channel
Under Channels, beside Push notification and In-app prompt. It is the same switch as the Review request row on the Emails tab — flip either and the other follows. The link beside it opens the email's design.
When it goes
The reviews engine decides, not the email. In Review Setup you choose to ask after a reward is redeemed, after a set number of visits, or both — and whether to ask immediately or after a delay. The email editor's Sending panel repeats those settings for reference, with a link back to Review Setup to change them.
Like every club email except the welcome, it only goes to members who said yes to your offers.
What a tap on a star does
| Your routing | 4 or 5 stars | 1 to 3 stars |
|---|---|---|
| Balanced (recommended) | On to your Google listing | On to your Google listing |
| Maximise star rating | On to your Google listing | A private page asking for a few words, which land in Customer Feedback and nowhere else |
Review Setup itself warns that Maximise star rating can conflict with Google's review policy, so use it at your own discretion.
It all counts
- Every rating given in an email shows in the Review Growth funnel, just like a rating from the app.
- The dashboard shows how your asks reached people — by push, by email and in the app.
- If you Reward a stamp for sharing feedback, a rating from the email earns it the same way: once, and never for the Google review itself.
The Star rating block works anywhere
You can add a Star rating block to any of your emails, not just this one — a milestone thank-you, for example.
Do not write anything near a Star rating block that promises a stamp, a discount or any other reward for reviewing you on Google. Google and the FTC both forbid rewarding public reviews. The stamp for sharing feedback rewards the rating itself, never the review.
In one sentence
Turn on the Email channel in Review Setup, make the Review request email yours, and the reviews engine asks by email on the same timing and routing it uses in the app.
