Emails from the businesses you join

Why a business you joined can email you, which of its emails wait for your yes, and how to stop one business's emails without losing your stamps.

3 min readUpdated 23 Sept 2026

The businesses you collect stamps with can email you themselves — a welcome when you join, a note when your reward is ready, and a few more if you want them. They come from the business, in its name, and you decide which ones you get.

Who it is from

The email arrives from the business, with its name first so you recognise it — for example Harbour & Hearth Coffee via Loyalty Club. The words, photos and colours are the business's own.

If you reply, your reply goes to the business, not to us.

Which emails you might get

EmailWhen it comesNeeds your yes?
WelcomeOnce, a few minutes after you join — at the till, by scanning their QR code, or when the business adds youNo. It confirms something you have just done. It still has an unsubscribe link.
Reward readyWhen you fill a card and have a reward to claimYes
MilestoneA thank-you when you reach a number of visits the business has chosenYes
Dates you told them aboutA few days before a date you asked them to remember — a birthday, an anniversaryYes
Review requestAfter a reward or a number of visits, asking how it wentYes
Their news and offersWhen the business sends a message campaign by email as well as in the appYes

Each automatic email goes once for each thing that triggers it — one welcome, one thank-you per milestone, one reminder per date each year. You will not get the same one twice.

"Your yes" is your answer to the question the app asks straight after you join a business: Want offers from that business? Say No thanks and the welcome is the only email you will get from them. You can change your answer whenever you like — see Managing marketing consent.

What is inside

An email from a business can carry:

  • Your live stamp balance — how far along your card you are.
  • Your own QR code — show the email at the till and staff can scan it, just like your card in the app. Handy if you never installed the app.
  • A few questions — some businesses ask what you like, or a date that matters to you, with a Tell us about you button. Answering is optional; see Telling a business what you like.
  • Five stars to tap — in a review request, tapping a star is how you say how it went.

Each business designs its own emails, so not every email has every part.

Stopping one business's emails

Every email has an unsubscribe link at the bottom.

  • It stops that business's emails only.
  • Your card, your stamps and that business's messages in the app are unaffected.
  • Every other business you have joined keeps emailing you as before.

If you would rather not hear any offers from a business at all — by push or by email — turn off offers from them instead. See Managing marketing consent.

If your emails bounce

If emails to your address bounce back as undeliverable, businesses on Loyalty Club stop emailing that address — all of them, not just one. Keep your email address up to date in Settings → Account; see Changing your email or password.

If you have corrected a mistyped address and still are not getting anything, open a ticket and we will look into it.

Not every business sends every email

Each business chooses which of these emails to switch on, so not every business you visit will email you, and some send only a few of them. If a business has never emailed you, that is the likely reason — nothing is wrong with your account.

Not getting an email you expected?

Check, in this order:

  1. Your junk or spam folder. Look for the business's name followed by "via Loyalty Club".
  2. Whether you said yes to their offers. Everything except the welcome waits for it.
  3. Whether you unsubscribed from that business's emails.
  4. Whether your address bounced — see above.
  5. Whether the business sends that email at all. Each one is switched on by the business.

In one sentence

Businesses you join can email you in their own name — the welcome goes to everyone, everything else only if you said yes to their offers — and the unsubscribe link in any of their emails stops that business's emails without touching your stamps.
