This is the reason table ordering is worth more than a menu with a basket on it. A loyalty scheme fails when someone has to remember to run it — here, the payment does the remembering.
Payment is the trigger
With Award a stamp on payment switched on in menu settings, a stamp is awarded the moment an order is paid — by any route:
| How it was paid | When the stamp lands |
|---|---|
| Card at the point of ordering | As soon as the payment confirms |
| TEDS tokens | As soon as the tokens move |
| At the till | When staff tap Mark paid on the order board |
| On a tab | Once, at settle, on the settled total |
Your staff never have to interrupt service to ask whether someone is on the loyalty scheme.
If your team takes payment at the counter but does not tap Mark paid, the food goes out but no stamp is awarded. Worth making part of the till routine.
Choosing the campaign
Every stamp belongs to a campaign. The Linked campaign setting decides which one table orders feed.
Leaving it on Automatic works when you run exactly one active campaign. If you run several, choose the campaign explicitly — otherwise the system cannot know where the stamp should go and skips it.
Spend-based campaigns
If your campaign is spend-based ("Spend £25 to earn a stamp"), the order total goes straight into accrual — the real figure, to the penny, with nothing typed by hand.
This is the pairing restaurants get the most out of, because a spend campaign is only as good as the accuracy of the number feeding it.
Linking individual dishes
In the dish editor there is a Loyalty section. Linking a dish to a campaign puts an ember badge on it in the menu, and gives you two modes:
- Counts toward spend — the default behaviour for everything: the dish's value rides into spend accrual with the rest of the order.
- Earns a stamp — the dish awards a stamp per qualifying unit. This is how "every coffee earns a stamp" works on a Buy-X campaign.
Flagged dishes are visibly the ones that take a diner nearer a reward. That is margin-friendly steering a paper menu simply cannot do — point it at the dishes you actually want moving, not just the cheapest.
Guests, and how they become members
A guest can order and pay without an account, but they cannot hold a stamp — there is no card for it to go on yet.
So instead:
- 01The order still earns a stamp
Calculated exactly as it would be for a member.
- 02They are shown what it earned
The confirmation screen tells them their meal earned a stamp at your venue, and invites them to join free to claim it.
- 03They get a claim code
Valid for 14 days. It also appears on your order board so your staff can read it out if the diner has closed their screen.
- 04Joining redeems it
Signing up lands them in the claim flow and the stamp appears on their new card.
This is the strongest signup moment you will get: they have just eaten, they have just paid, they are holding their phone, and the reward is already part-earned. Considerably better than an empty card offered at the door.
Checking it worked
- The order card on the board shows its payment state.
- The member's stamp count updates in the customer directory.
- Stamps awarded from orders appear in your reports alongside stamps awarded at the till.
In one sentence
Switch on Award a stamp on payment, link the right campaign, and every paid table order stamps the member automatically — while guests get a 14-day claim code that turns them into members.
